Auto body repair shops must post their hourly repair rates clearly in plain view. Auto body shops are free to charge any hourly rate they want but the State of Texas has a maximum fee that an insurance provider is required to pay. Because of this, most shops charge the same rate. If you choose a paint and body shop that charges a rate above what your insurance provider is required to pay, you will need to pay the amount out of pocket. However, most shops stay at or below the maximum hourly rate.
