Miracle Body and Paint in San Antonio will be answering the most common misconceptions our customers have when it comes to auto paint.
Do my parts come already factory-painted?
Some parts do, but some don’t. Bumpers and holdings usually come already painted but there are also available blank ones. Even if the part comes painted, its no guarantee that it will automatically match your car paint. This is why its better to mix the paint from scratch so it will closely match the shade of your car. This is most especially true for older cars that are already weathered or faded.
Can I get factory pre-mixed paints ?
Factories do offer touch up paint, but what they offer is only intended for small areas. If you want to purchase factory pre-mixed paint, you’re actually spending more money and losing more time. This is because your car has already been faded from daily use, and will no longer match the touch up paint. Your paint job will look splotchy if you go ahead and put the pre-mixed factory paint on your faded car. This is why its important to have an expert auto body painter mix and match the paint.
Will bird poop affect my car paint?
This is true. The acid is strong enough to eat away your car paint color. Make sure to always wipe dead bugs, bird poop, or sap off your vehicle as soon as you see it. Not only does it take a few seconds to clean off, you’ll also be helping your paint to last longer. It is also a good idea to have your car waxed regularly to protect your car paint.
Can I skip auto painting if I get my car repaired after an accident?
Repainting your car after an accident will depend on your decision. If you get lucky and your paint was not damaged, there is no need for repaint. However, if the paint was visibly damaged, it will significantly reduce the value of your investment if ever you decide to resell.
Are all paint protectors the same?
Not all paint protectors are the same. Some last longer than others. Wax and clear coat eventually wears off over time. Don’t hesitate to talk to your detailing expert about the type of pain sealants and how long they are expected to last.
