After an accident – Part 2 The Quality of the work

Portrait of a mechanic repairing a lifted car

Because an auto accident can make you feel out of place and unsure of where to turn for help. We want to give you the assurance that your car (and your life) will be back to normal quickly. This is part 2 in our 2-week series covering reasons why you should get at least one estimate done by an independent shop like Miracle Body and Paint in San Antonio Texas before you agree to have anyone repair your vehicle.

Standards for Quality of Work

In the great state of Texas, you have the right to choose the auto body shop you want to have to repair your vehicle after an auto accident. However, in order to save money, most insurance companies will make arrangements with several auto collision repair facilities in an area of town. The insurance company will “push” or persuade clients to use these body shops in exchange for special concessions including discounted rates on parts and labor.  Once a shop enters into an agreement with the insurance provider, the auto collision shop is now dependent on the insurance company for a steady flow of clients. The repair facility now finds itself working for the insurance company and not for you, the person who had the accident. Often times the insurance provider will put strict deadlines on the amount of time it will allow for a repair to be completed.  This can cause the work to be hurried. This is done because the insurance company is paying for rental car services while a vehicle is in the body shop. The insurance company wants the car back in your hands as quickly as possible to keep those cost down. This system can often lead to having a “fixed” vehicle returned to the shop for more repairs.

The direct repair facility now finds itself in a no-win situation. They often hire based on the influx of work being brought in by the insurance company and must now live in fear of losing their preferred status.  Turnover rates are high at these collision repair facilities and these auto body shops are often understaffed in hopes of keeping cost low.  These factors just magnify the quality control issues many of these shops face.

At Miracle Body and Paint, we have double the amount of staff as other facilities that repair the same volume of vehicles we do each month.  Our quality assurance measures are some of the highest in the paint and body repair industry. This is the main reason we are able to maintain an A+ rating with the BBB. The owner of Miracle Body and Paint, Manual Rubio, inspects each vehicle to make sure you are completely satisfied with our work before you take it off our lot. The best part is, we pass those labor and parts discounts directly to you. We discount deductibles by as much as 15% and work to make certain you don’t have to bring your vehicle back once we send it home.
